Anonymous participation

Public Idea and Poll submissions and votes are anonymous. Future Fiji does not require a public account and Polls collect no names, contact details, demographics, comments, or images. Do not include private, sensitive, confidential, or identifying information in a submission because approved content becomes public.

Browser identity and integrity data

A signed anonymous identity cookie, which may remain for up to 365 days from when it is set or refreshed through participation, helps enforce one final Poll vote per Poll for one browser identity. It is not an account and does not directly contain a name, contact detail, demographic profile, or other identity detail. It does distinguish that browser from other browser identities. Clearing cookies, using another browser or device, or other technical workarounds can create a different browser identity, so Future Fiji cannot guarantee one vote per person.

For abuse prevention and platform integrity, the service uses keyed HMAC technical hashes derived from the anonymous token, network address, and user-agent. It also stores timestamps, aggregate counters, anomaly signals, moderation records, and admin audit history. Public responses never expose those hashes or internal signals.

Review and retention

Poll submissions receive AI-assisted safety review and human admin review before publication. Provider failures leave a persisted Poll pending for human review; they do not publish it automatically. Polls never request or store generated imagery.

Vote token hashes are retained to preserve the one-browser duplicate-vote check and auditability. Network and user-agent hashes on a Poll vote are cleared only after the vote is at least 90 days old and that Poll has actually been closed for at least 30 days. Fixed-window limiter buckets and explicit rate evidence are removed after seven days. Admin audit and moderation records may be retained for integrity and review.
